This nearly three-hour-long epic film was created on the basis of a true story that had happened in the Korean War. It talked about Chinese People’s Volunteers（CPV） defeated the US enemies in an extremely difficult and hopeless situation. CPV fought bravely in freezing temperatures in a key campaign around Changjin Lake， also known as Chosin Reservoir， in the northern part of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in 1950. The battle was a turning point in the war， laying the foundation for the final armistice negotiations. In China， The battle (1950-1953) is formally known as the “War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea.”
